The home run derby is a special and entertaining sports event that deserves to be celebrated.

“MLB still feels like it's special. Like this still feels like a special week. And every player we talked to still feels as if it's an honor to get invited.”

The Home Run Derby has become less entertaining over the years because the format changes and high pitch counts make it feel like guys are just hitting liners rather than massive bombs.

“historically I do love the Home Run Derby and I think at its core like there is something in there that it could be awesome but as the years of pass like it's just gotten it's just not it's just not that entertaining anymore”

The Home Run Derby format is flawed and players should not be allowed to choose their own batting practice pitchers, as some perform poorly and hurt the quality of the event.

“you got to take that decision out of their hands exactly because they go up there and can't throw a strike and embarrass them”
