The normalization of authoritarian far-right tactics is a concern that extends beyond Idaho to neighborhoods throughout the entire country.

“this is really happening in everybody's neighborhood that where to some degree even if even if Idaho is more extreme than the rest of the country it this type of thing is reflected in almost every area of the country.”

Hasan argues that many modern mass shooters are radicalized by esoteric, neo-Nazi, and white supremacist online cults like the Order of Nine Angles.

“If you want to understand like what variant of psychopathic far-right esoteric Nazism they believe in these sorts of groups that have had tremendous impact on mass shooting incidents all around the world. Not just in the United States of America by the way because they operate through Telegram.”

He views the political events surrounding Charlie Kirk as an attempt to weaponize a tragedy in a manner reminiscent of historical authoritarian movements.

“It was to to weaponize it. And somebody did a very interesting analysis of Steven Miller's speech against a famous speech that Gerbles did called the coming storm became known as the coming storm and there were phrases almost directly lifted”

He considers the rhetoric and political tactics displayed by the Trump movement, specifically at the Charlie Kirk funeral, to be a frightening manifestation of extreme ethnic nationalism.

“This is a speech taking on the orcs at Mordor. We, you know, the great inheritors of civilization need to fight these barbarians. And who are these barbarians? Well, presumably they're the people who do not come from Europe and presumably they represent most of the Democratic Party.”

Northern Idaho serves as a testing ground for far-right political activities that are spreading across the United States.
