The restriction of sexually explicit content on OnlyFans is likely to result in a massive loss of income for sex workers who rely on the platform as their primary source of work.

“they have more than 130 million users paying monthly fees that is an utterly mind-blowing number and many sex workers are claiming that this is their primary source of income and that they will be temporarily out of work while searching for a new platform”

A change in platform policy from allowing sexually explicit content to banning it is likely to cause a significant decline in user engagement, similar to the pattern seen with Tumblr.

“tumblr was was consistently dying when they made their change and then just incredibly accelerated that decline”
