Emma Chamberlain finds the lack of excitement and sleepy nature of her hometown's main street to be inherently charming.

Living in a small town during the era of his youth made everyone familiar with significant local events, such as a polio diagnosis.

“everybody in our town was very well aware of that really because I mean as horrendous as polio was at that time I don't remember anybody besides you having it no not at that time I mean there must be somebody but we didn't know him I mean it was it was the Talk of the Town when he got polio”

Moving from a town of 1,500 people to a city of 40,000 felt like moving to a big city.

“but when you got married you moved to Quincy from Colchester okay and Colchester how many people live in that town at that time I think it was 1500 yeah around 1500 oh my goodness wow yeah that is a very small town so moving to Quincy must have been like moving to a big city it was we we loved it an”
