He believes the SEAL Teams are an extremely physically and mentally demanding environment where fear management and methodical behavior are key to success.

“Fear that they're going to die if they drown. Fear that Fear they're going to get hypothermia, feel whatever. But, just take it slow, man. Don't go You know what I mean? Don't Just be very methodical and think about what you're doing.”

Special operations members often share character traits with criminals or sociopaths.

“it's a statistic That Special Operations have like you know all the characteristics of like criminals sociopaths except for a couple”

He believes the military must improve the way it handles members who are struggling or failing to meet performance standards, moving away from shaming and guilting toward more constructive solutions.

“I think that the hate stuff actually uses more manpower and bandwidth than the solution which would just be in my mind some we figure out some really hard problems at that place”

He believes the most important trait for a special operator is the ability to consistently think outside the box.

“Try to always think outside the box and we didn't necessarily hit directly on that in our interview, but there was a lot of elements of that that we talked about. Try to always don't get set.”

Operational success in Special Forces relies on building and maintaining rapport with partner forces despite the inherent security risks involved.

“we require Rapport and a successful amicable working relationship with a force in order to be successful we SF guys rarely if ever do anything by ourselves it's always along with another group of people so the development of that relationship and the maintenance of that relationship is critical”

He believes that the primary purpose of the military is to win wars, and that team cohesion in special operations is compromised by social experiments.

“the military exists to Wi Wars period it's not a it's not a social experiment it's not a boy club it's not supposed to be fair like the best person for the job the best Dynamics for the team to Mission accomplishment the military is for our National Defense and protect people around the world”

A high pass rate on selection is less important than the consistently high number of suitable volunteers recruited to the units.

“the unit is such a busy place that those 12 you know you you don't really see each other that much you know you're you're passing ships in the night a lot of the time but as I said the the most important figure to note is the starting figure because they need to keep the numbers up of suitable appli”
