He notes that being a first-round pick is no guarantee of success, as it is only a step and players must perform after the draft to establish a legacy.

“I think that's what shows too Chan that yeah these three days are important right but it's what you do after that that ends up being the legacy of who y'all are”

He believes the draft is ultimately based on hope because teams cannot truly know if a player will become a star or a failure like Ryan Leaf.

“it's all about hope you're hoping that you're getting a Tom Brady and not a Ryan Leaf so all the resource all the finances they put into it and it's still about hope for a franchise and for that player that he can become great”
