Carlos Mencia believes his role as a mentor involves teaching openers to be headliners rather than just performers, and he holds them to a standard of constantly generating new original material.

“it's not about opening for me you can if that was the case i would just go to every comedy club and tell them to book the openers and features it's more about teaching them you know all the stuff that i learned and passing kind of that knowledge on”
