Mark Normand states that he takes approximately two and a half years to write an hour of comedy because he writes short jokes.

“A lot of people today is long setups, a lot of b everyone likes boom boom boom boom, you know, in the moment in the moment. And that's what's important on this show, you know, don't overthink things. But if you got something, go for it.”

Bert Kreischer recommends that comedians should prioritize connecting with the audience and embracing spontaneity over rigid set lists.

“I'll do 20 solid minutes of material and then I will make sure chaos happens. I will [ __ ] bring chaos into this room.”

He believes stand-up comedy sets should be improvisational and vary from night to night.

“Every set I do is different. It's very like >> improv. A lot of it's spoken word.”

Comedians feel pressure when audiences dislike their personality, as their personality is their product.

“it does and it sucks too cuz I will say in comedy the product is your like personality so people like yeah not for me you're like [ __ ] you dude it's not like you're just selling Insurance like I don't really need that right now it's like yeah I saw you I'm good on you and you're like [ __ ]”

Being fully present on stage is an essential part of performing stand-up comedy.

Hans Kim argues that comedians should be able to make jokes about any racial group as long as the jokes are not used to tie themselves to something they claim is important.

“I think if I do it right I'm talking [ __ ] about Asians too I think any racial group is like you can you should make fun of them and you shouldn't tie yourself to like you know something that you're important you should have more pride in other things like Mexicans”

Tim Dillon argues that comedians should be free to express themselves in their own shows and that venues cannot dictate what a comedian says if they have agreed to host them, though he acknowledges re

“But on my own show, in my own country where I have the freedom to speak and say the things I want, I'm going to be funny and I'm going to be who I am. And if it you're not buying that, you don't have the right to tell me on my own show.”

A healthy comedy community should be a group of people who support each other rather than competing like they do in New York clubs.

“That's the good thing about Philly guys. Like all our our our close-knit crew. I don't think we're jokesters like that. We're constantly [ __ ] around, but we're never like, "You think this is funny?"”

He suggests that stand-up comedy currently suffers from a culture of self-censorship regarding sensitive topics.

“people since I got here what there's like a silencing thing happening with it it's not I don't think it's to protect P did I just think it's a thing of like uh we just don't know anything and it's on purpose”

He believes that comedians should challenge their audiences rather than just trying to please them.

“I read Steve Martin's autobiography and I was like you had it we got to do some weird we got to challenge people. We got to invent something brand new”
