Dale Earnhardt Jr. believes that had Steve Park remained in the AC Delco car, he would have won races and championships during the 1998 and 1999 seasons.

“I'm one of them that believe that had Steve for whatever reason stayed in that car, he wins those races, he wins those championships in 989.”

Kevin Pennell maintains that Steve Park contributed valuable short-track knowledge to the team that helped them develop more competitive cars like Stepchild.

“I think when Steve came in, Steve brought a bunch of uh short track knowledge that we didn't have at the time.”
