Anime conventions are often more about socializing with friends than participating in the activities offered.

He argues that while some fans are respectful, parasocial behavior and boundary-crossing can make the convention environment difficult.

He advocates for the use of security guards at future conventions as a standard practice for managing safety and personal space.
