The decision to reinvent one's life begins with the courageous act of honestly assessing one's own feelings and worth.

Ed Mylett claims that humans should intentionally design and reinvent their lives on a regular basis, much like the body constantly regenerates its own cells.

“The body sheds the old and reinvents the new. It redesigns itself. It reccalibrates itself. It changes itself. This is nature. But it's not nature to do it in our mind. It's not nature to do it in our spirit.”

It is important for one's long-term sanity to maintain a clear separation between their career and their personal identity.

“You just need to have a nice healthy separation which can be hard uh where you're like okay regardless of how this is going like I am me and I'm proud of who I am and I'm proud of how I conduct myself and I'm going to do my best. And it has nothing to do with like how I might be doing financially”
