Analog film photography provides a unique experience by enabling the creation of physical memories using light, physics, and chemistry.

“I love analog film photography. There's something to me about being able to capture a memory in a physical object with light and physics and chemistry. It's just beautiful.”

He finds using a dedicated camera more rewarding than a phone because it encourages him to be more intentional with his photography.

“That is probably my favorite part about carrying an actual camera versus my phone. like you drove past it and you were like, I'm coming back for that.”

Making decisions upfront, such as committing to black and white, can free up mental capacity for creativity and lead to greater happiness in photography.

“So you you're you're you're freeing up capacity for creativity >> and and and they're doing a pretty good job of explaining the technical details why a monochrome >> camera is going to give you better monochrome images without that that bare filter, the color filter.”

Jeff Garlin prefers shooting environmental portraits and set photography without cropping, relying on natural light rather than staged setups.

“I love using natural light. I don't crop. It's just a very specific way.”

He prefers a camera that is pocketable and unobtrusive, allowing for candid photography without people changing their behavior.

“The thing, again, the thing I I like it the thing I like the most about it is that when I take it out of my pocket, no one has to pretend to act a certain way.”
