Steve Hilton contends that he is the legitimate front-runner in the race and that voters are seeking a positive alternative to Democratic one-party rule.

“The fact that they're now collapsing into chaos and sleas and scandal, I just think it's one more reason that despite the odds and despite how people look at California, we really do have a shot at kicking them out this year.”

He believes that as governor, he can be an effective fighter and protector for California against the Trump administration's overreach while also focusing on lowering living costs.
