Functional footwear should have a wide toe box, be flat with no heel-to-toe drop, and be thin and flexible to allow the foot to strengthen naturally.

“My non-negotiable is the wide toe box. The toes have to be able to play. When you think of all the diagnoses that we talked about, bunyions, nuromomas, hammer toes, when the forefoot can spllay, the foot's going to function better. So that's number one.”

“I mean like, you know, that kind of thing where you go, "Let me try this on." And you're like, "Holy [ __ ] How does anyone take two steps in this?" I don't get it. Yeah. Did you know that in like the 1700s, 1800s in France that men wore heels? >> Yeah, but that was like a not like the heels that a ”

She believes it is best to avoid fast fashion due to its low quality and the fleeting nature of its trends.

“I hate fast fashion. I hate it. Like all those trends that die down in like 2 seconds.”

A wide toe box is essential for proper foot function, and relying on performance footwear without foundational foot strength training is likely to lead to injury.

“You have to earn your right to get into that shoe because it does change things for example because it's going to propel you it might cause you to stride longer with longer strides you have to consider hamstring and achilles possible or potential injuries”

Wearing heels is generally impractical and damaging to the feet.

“A podiatrist in LA told me, he was like, "Oh yeah, like a huge part of my business are women who refuse to stop wearing these and they just keep damaging their nerves [laughter] and their feet are just completely destroyed." But they do look so good. Heels look amazing.”

The artist believes that individuals should dress authentically according to their personal style rather than conforming to outside pressure or current trends.

“My opinion is dress like yourself, bro. If if you dress a certain way, dress like that, bro. Don't let these [ __ ] gas you up to be something you not.”

Personal style is best expressed by prioritizing individual preference and clothing versatility over following fleeting trends.

“I always tell people the key is buy what you like and wear your clothes cuz like a lot of the time we'll go all out on this like random item that's like yeah this is going to be the item you can only really pull it off once and then it's just sitting there you know what I mean and actually your Basi”

Clothing can serve as a form of protection or armor that helps actors feel more secure or grounded when playing characters who are under public scrutiny.

“Yoshi Amamoto is a designer that she wore a lot. And he spoke about how he likes to imagine his clothing as armor for women. And I thought that's such I I just loved that idea”

Chris Appleton believes that hair is a vital component of a person's identity and that aligning one's external look with their internal self is a powerful tool for confidence.

“Hair is such a important part of your identity. Think of Anna Winter, you think of the Bob. Exactly. >> If I say Lady Gaga, platinum blonde, you know, wacky. If you think of JLo, the golden honey pops of, you know, JLo color, you know, it's so significant to your brand.”

Fashion serves as a form of armor that allows individuals to express their identity and protect themselves from societal narratives.

“and so being able to tell different stories about my body about my day about the world I want to exist within through clothing became my armor for the world and I I still like having that armor because armor is something that like you know um not only protects you but like you know gives you a littl”

Lizzo believes that fashion brands should design their clothing on larger mannequins to ensure accurate fit for plus-size customers.

“A lot of brands, they'll design their clothes or their shaper or whatever on a smaller mannequin and then they'll just scale up. So that's why sometimes it doesn't fit the same or look the same when it's like the plus sizes. But we actually have larger body mannequins that we design on.”

Designers fail to create bathing suit options that are appropriate for women with specific body types like larger stomachs.

“I don't want to show my stomach because it looks like a just a big goo. Brain goo. It looks like a brain that was just plopped on my stomach.”

There is a lack of comfortable and well-designed swimwear options for women with fuller stomachs and saggy breasts.

“I've always seen you when we go to Mexico in these like tankinis and they always look so cute on you. >> That's the thing. It's like tankinis have just disappeared from the universe.”

Brendan argues that while high-end clothing is expensive, pieces from luxury brands like Gucci or Louis Vuitton offer superior fit and quality that lasts longer.

“when you buy something that is really made well. Now granted it's too expensive at Gucci. It's too expensive at Louis Vuitton. But when you buy something from there and you wear it, it really does fit nice. It's made of nice material. It is too expensive and it does last.”

Chris finds that paying 500 dollars for a t-shirt is unreasonable and reflects poor financial judgment.

“It's called being dumb with money.”
