Acting is a craft that requires technique and study, rather than just raw talent.

“mitzi is wrong though about one thing which is that acting is technique there there is a great deal of technique there are there are things that a good director and a good teacher who teaches the craft of acting it's a craft”

Actors should be prepared to perform when they show up to set rather than relying on rehearsals.

“he's like just show up ready to ready to kill it. He's like why would we rehearse? Like you should come to set ready to crush the scene.”

Actors should be expected to master their dialogue thoroughly before arriving on set rather than focusing on personal interpretation of the lines.

“So the bottom line was the old directors were fanatics about study your dialogue and hit the mark. Yeah. Wow. Shut the fuck up. I don't want to hear interpretation. I don't want to hear your crap or anything like that. No, just do the job. That's what I hire you for.”

Marlon Wayans believes that rigorous preparation allows an actor to have more creative freedom once they arrive on set.

“So then when I could get to set and I work with him, I could just let it all go cuz I knew my director was like, "Yeah, what's on the script? Yeah, let's not do that this." And so I just allowed myself preparation to have the freedom.”

An actor should not short change their own coverage by neglecting their performance to focus on others.

“don't short change your own coverage I was just to say like you're going to want to be out there and be a hero and shoot everybody's takes and then get one take yourself okay say line and move on you're going to regret it because you're short changing like you know your this character for the movie”

Actors should be allowed to rely on their own creative instincts and improv rather than being forced to adhere strictly to constant notes from executives.

“but when you're doing comedy dude but couldn't let me ask you this then because about a year and a half ago I was and I know this your channel is popular now yeah I don't think they'll look at me”

Acting in stories is a bonus to the creative process because it allows for improvisation and working with funny people.

“and now acting in stories is like a bonus right because it's just fun as [ __ ] to like hopefully improvise on set with some people who are very funny and uh make up some dumb [ __ ] or like do a crazy stunt”

She believes that as an actor, she should avoid making judgments on the characters she portrays in order to understand their motivations.

“I don't like making judgments on my characters so I don't want I I want to understand them”

Building a level of trust with a director allows an actor to fully let go of their internal critic and remain present in the scene.

“I think also with someone like Ben as an actor, you can completely let go because I always have that little director in my head whether you're a director or not as an actor, you have that person in your head kind of keeping track of what you're doing and criticizing what you're doing as you're going”

Jeff Bridges believes acting is best when the performer surrenders to the process and allows the performance to happen through them rather than forcing it.

“as an artist there's nothing greater than that feeling where it's doing you and you're not doing it that's The Sweet Spot man yeah and that again has to do with this surrender in a sense”

Bradley Steven Perry would not actively encourage his children to become child actors.

“I certainly wouldn't encourage it yeah I think you got to want to do it”

Child actors are vulnerable to industry pressure and lack of protection because they are easily influenced and often pushed toward fame over their own well-being.

“like no one's no one's really protecting them because they're a star. They don't need protection. And let's go fast forward 10 years. Well, the bar is not open anymore. So now you have people that have been partying and living a certain life for so long”

He believes kid actors are more developed than others because they operate in an adult world.

“kid actors are so quick. They're so much faster than everyone else. Like, their brains are. They're already a little more developed because they're operating in an adult world.”

She believes her personal experience as a child actress was overwhelmingly positive and that she did not miss out on a normal childhood.

“I had the best time ever I mean I was literally playing dress up every single day doing something that I loved something that was so unique and fun and while yeah I didn't have a normal childhood I didn't know any other way and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way”

Andrew Gardner believes child acting puts too much responsibility and pressure on a child whose brain is not yet equipped to handle such attention and power.

“imagine having that much attention that much power like from my experience with her these kids have power over adults right and anybody they come across which is cool but it's quite a responsibility for a child and I think I'm not a doctor or anything but I feel like a child's brain isn't necessaril”
