Black Label believes that minding one's own business is the most critical rule for survival in both the streets and the prison system.

Carl asserts that violence in the federal prison system is excessive and poorly managed because guards frequently ignore abuse or allow it to occur.

“The violence is really bad, more worse in the feds because the cops don't care. Um they'll let anything go on. They'll just wait till you get tired or that dude's dead.”
