The President's decision to directly call out his predecessor in the speech was a smart and effective strategic move.

“I expected it to be all about Trump I didn't expect that they would directly mention him but they did that's great like let's just why no reason to like dance around and I kind of hate when you don't make when you don't just say the thing and they say the thing and I think it's great”

The State of the Union address is a valuable opportunity for the President to directly address his opponents and influence public perception.

“I think this is the most important part about this is it will get more attention and one of the things that the president has really struggled with because of the sort of structural deficiencies that the Democrats have in the media is grabbing the nation's attention and one way to do that is to just”

Ben Shapiro argues that President Trump effectively used the State of the Union to expose Democratic extremism and gain a political advantage by forcing Democrats to react to unifying statements.

The President's speech effectively showcased his commitment to the middle class and democracy while drawing a clear contrast with his political opposition.

She asserts that the State of the Union speech has become a relic that barely matters for 24 hours of attention.

The State of the Union address was largely a gaslighting performance that functioned more like a television variety show than a genuine report on the nation's condition.

“And what he did say felt like the biggest gaslighting exercise in the history of states of the union. I mean, no, he could say all he wants how great the economy is and how he's driven down prices and inflation, but everybody who goes grocery shopping or puts gas in their car or pays their electric ”

The State of the Union address was a rambling performance filled with lies about the economy and the president's accomplishments.

“And so the State of the Union for me and on a legal AF show was I called it the evidence manufacturing factory. Like what is he going to say that's going to harm him in current or future cases? So much.”

Matt O'Brien views the State of the Union as a tedious, predictable summary of the president's erratic social media rhetoric.

Congressional Democrats should find ways to create an attentional moment or protest during the State of the Union instead of just attending silently.

So, it's just like the only case for going is to somehow create an att”

Participating in the official State of the Union address while norms are violated makes one complicit, and the boycott is a necessary, important statement against fascism.

“It's why I think the boycott is so important. Now look, I understand and I'm not going to fault individuals who show up as a sign of protest. But I will fault people who behave like it's a normal thing to be a part of that state of the union. It it it is not.”

Inviting Jeffrey Epstein victims to the State of the Union is a substantive way for Democrats to counter the President's platform.

“I think that's a great move, right? Like I think it is something substantive that they have Democrats have been fighting for making sure that there is a real release of the Epstein file.”

Democratic leadership should not discourage protests or disruptions by members of Congress during the State of the Union.

“But I don't think that the leadership of the Democratic caucus at large, not just Jeffre, like the entirety of the leadership and even the former leadership, okay, clock that should tamp down the ability for dis for protest or disruption or understanding the moment.”

Attending the joint address to Congress is an act of showing respect for the office, even if not the occupant.

“I view it frankly as showing uh respect for the office not necessarily in this case the occupant of the office”

Democratic officials should not boycott or walk out of the President's State of the Union address as it is unprofessional and unproductive.

“Some are talking about walking out in the middle of his speech. Others are talking about boycotting it all together and essentially finding something else to do. I'm here to tell you that neither is acceptable. Neither should be acceptable.”
