Vladimir Putin initiated an unprovoked and illegal war to conquer Ukraine and dismantle its pro-Western government.

Vladimir Putin is behaving like a rogue state leader driven by totalitarian and irredentist ideology rather than rational geopolitical concerns.

“We have to get our heads around the idea that that's Putin now and Russia's behavior is that of a rogue state.”

The initial Russian invasion plan failed because it was based on Putin's false belief that Ukrainians would welcome Russian troops as liberators.

She argues that Russia cannot exist as a functional empire without Ukraine and that this drive for imperial restoration is the reason Putin is waging war.

He views the peace plan as a diplomatic provocation designed to create divisions between Ukraine, the United States, and European allies.

“I think uh the whole thing is what the Russians would call a a provocation. That is it was thrown out to cause a rift between Ukraine, the United States, between the United States and European allies and within the government of the United States.”

He asserts that Russia is not genuinely interested in ending the war and the proposed peace plan is merely a deception.

“I don't think that Russia wants to end this war. I don't think Putin I think Putin needs this war to stay in power.”

He characterizes the current peace plan as a deceptive ploy and a sham that serves as a tool for Russian capitulation goals.

“Well, here is the thing. This so-called peace plan, it's not a peace plan. It's a con plan. It's a ploy plan. It's a sham plan. It's a deception plan.”
