Shawn Ryan states that room clearing tactics have evolved from high-intensity entry to clearing as much of the room as possible from the doorway.

“So the new method, you know what I mean, is is you try to clear as much of the room from the exterior doorway as you can. So it's, you know what I mean, you're doing like this kind of [ __ ] Like it's it's a lot sneakier, I guess is what I'm saying. So you get you might clear 75% of the room before ”

The Operator advocates for combat clearance over traditional hostage rescue tactics because it is safer and more methodical for clearing buildings without hostages.

“it was no longer hostage rescue clearance. It was combat clearance and combat clearance were slower, much more methodical. There was no reason to just run in the room and and clear things.”
