The judge presiding over the case is a partisan Democrat who should recuse himself due to his financial contributions to Joe Biden's campaign.

“The judge here judge Mara is a Democrat activist he funded helped fund Joe Biden's election campaign in New York which went for Joe Biden”

The legal system is functioning correctly because the jury was able to set aside their political inclinations to rule on the case.

“if you have 12 people on the jury mathematically it's likely that three or four of them voted for him and they were willing to set aside that political inclination or opinion to rule on the case and rule on the law so the democracy and the system is actually working”

She believes the conviction is a historic event and a significant test of whether American democracy can survive Trump's consistent disregard for established norms.

“It's the first time that a former president has ever been convicted of a felony. Of course, it's a big deal. It's it's a Rubicon that America is crossing. And I think what it the reason people focus on Trump is that he keeps smashing through American norms.”

He contends that the falsification of records conviction is a serious offense because it involved interfering with a presidential election.

“I think the judge made clear that the the crime as it were that what turned this into a felon wasn't the just the falsifying of business accounts. It was in order to interfere with the outcome of a of a presidential election and that's the kind of real sort of crime against the state”

He suggests the legal case may be viewed by some as trivial or politically motivated, which could potentially serve to galvanize Trump's supporters.
