The Supreme Court should be expanded from nine to thirteen justices to prevent a conservative majority from blocking progressive legislation.

“And the only way to do that, knowing that we're not going to leave in place voluntarily uh a veto on anything that happens in the federal government is to expand the Supreme Court from 9 to 13 justices.”

She characterizes the current Supreme Court as a body that has enabled Republican efforts to undermine democratic representation.

“the six Republican-nominated appointed members of the Supreme Court basically gutted the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which was designed to guarantee that black and brown Americans could have a say in the people who represented them.”

Expanding the Supreme Court is a moral and historical imperative to ensure that progressive legislation is not blocked by a conservative majority.

“I think that if you want meaningful, durable, lasting change that there is a moral imperative then to expand the Supreme Court.”

The speaker expresses a strong belief that the Supreme Court justices are acting in bad faith to achieve partisan outcomes rather than following legal principles.

“It's all vibes and it's all [ __ ] They'll use whatever [ __ ] argument they want. And at the end of the day, the strongest argument they had in this case was that it would be mighty inconvenient for states to selectively ban presidents from the ballot.”

The Supreme Court has lost its integrity by acting as a partisan entity that rubber-stamps executive actions rather than serving as an independent check on government branches.

“One of the checks on the executive branch and the legislative branch was the judiciary and they have completely said [ __ ] it. We're just going to rubber stamp whatever the executive does. It just it's really disheartening.”

The Supreme Court acted correctly in the Colorado ballot case because it prevents states from unilaterally and unconstitutionally removing a presidential candidate from the ballot.

“Colorado does not have the authority to take that man off the ballot that is big that is one step closer toward having a free and fair election”

The Supreme Court acted properly to defend the Constitution and Article One, marking a positive turning point for the institution.

“I think the Supreme Court has done what the Supreme Court needed to do. And I think historians may well look back and say that could have been a turning point for the court.”

He expressed happiness about the Supreme Court's verdict because the legal challenge against Trump's ballot eligibility should not have been permitted in the first place.

“I'm good I'm I'm a little bit happy about this verdict coming down little a little bit little bit you want to keep your job it shouldn't I'm it shouldn't have even been there okay that's why I'm a little bit happy”

The Democratic Party's rhetoric regarding the Supreme Court as illegitimate is dangerous to the institution.

“The one thing that the Democrats are doing is sort of illegitimizing the the one body that Americans at least for a long time still had some faith in.”

The Supreme Court currently functions as a last refuge of considered governance in a fractured nation.

“Americans still feel like those nine justices are kind of a last refuge of sober and considered if not apolitical at least not anti intellectual governance in this Riven nation of ours”
