The Lindsay Clancy mistrial has left Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz facing a decision that now carries pressure from almost every direction. Defense attorney and former prosecutor Eric Faddis joins Hidden Killers to connect three post-mistrial fights that look separate until you put them on the same calendar. Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial on September 4, 2026, after about 38 hours of deliberations across seven days. Kevin Reddington says the jury split 11-1 for acquittal. Days later, Reddington asked President Trump to consider a pardon even though a president cannot pardon a Massachusetts state charge. He also said he would not plead Lindsay Clancy to a day in jail and pointed toward the September 29 court date, where a Rule 25 motion is set to be heard. At the same time, Patrick Clancy's attorney, Howard Cooper, released a statement aimed at the accounts spreading claims that Patrick was involved in his children's deaths. Cooper described a relentless and destructive defamation campaign, said legal accountability would be pursued, and said law enforcement had been notified. Cruz is carrying the charging decision. After the mistrial, he said his office believed Lindsay Clancy was in control of her actions and described the case as the cruel and calculated killing of three innocents. He has not announced whether he will retry the case.
