This school year recap will leave you laughing, crying, and maybe even glad it's over! Please note: all our episodes are pre-recorded in advance, sometimes not reflecting or addressing current events. Lauran, Tell, Bri, and Gabe are moving into full recovery mode and are starting summer break off right with their own version of a school year recap. Be prepared to laugh out loud as Gabe trolls students using their slang incorrectly and Bri regales us with the story of a student claiming divinity. Yes, you read that right, the child said, "I am a god". We're still chuckling over Lauran's fairy tale dedication to Ryan Reynolds and the ensuing social media frenzy that followed. Tell provides a hilarious commentary on the mystical art of reading books for pleasure during the school year, and we each share our unique reflections on the rollercoaster of teaching. There's a student-teacher finding her stride, a classroom romance navigated, and even a tale of a misinterpreted science Pictionary clue that you’ll have to hear to believe. Ever wondered what happens when coffee spills all over a teacher's pants? Gabe spills the beans (or in this case, the coffee). We're reminiscing on the brilliant absurdity of our classrooms, like that time when Tell had to explain a miraculous fish resurrection to his students. In addition to these hilarious stories, we discuss the poignant moments of our teaching journey by reflecting on student growth, standing up to unruly parents, and celebrating our role in the lives of our students. We also debate on school hand dryers - are they good or garbage? Gabe gives us the details, and Tell has a lot to say about kindergartners reaching up to dry their hands. -- Check out our MERCH! https://shop.boredteachers.com/collections/teachers-off-duty Listen to the podcast anywhere you stream your favorite shows: Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/69pLuB4cKPCP8UG3eCImfP Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/teachers-off-duty/id1602160612 Subscribe to our newsletter: https://www.beacons.ai/teachersoffdutypod Become a Patreon member to access exclusive bonus content with hilarious games: https://www.patreon.com/teachersoffdutypodcast
