Lindsay Clancy's prosecutors called a psychiatrist to prove she was responsible, and he relayed her description of the voice. Nolan Wells' district attorney promised a grand jury all the evidence collected, and the phone was never collected. Jennifer Coffindaffer, 25 years in the FBI, joins Tony Brueski for a full interview covering the Lindsay Clancy trial and the Nolan Wells investigation. Clancy, Part 1: the defense rested August 21, 2026, on Dr. Phillip Resnick, who helped acquit Andrea Yates and told this jury Clancy was psychotic on January 24, 2023. Coffindaffer argues guilt. Tony runs each claim into the record. She saw her psychiatrist one day before the killings. The Commonwealth's testing showed no faking. She's paralyzed and on suicide watch. She told three people across three years that she saved her children. Clancy, Part 2: the attacks on the witnesses. Resnick is 88 and saw her at four months; Dr. Avram Mack saw her at three years, in April 2026. The chaplain heard about the voice in week one, in January 2023; the lawsuit it was supposedly invented for was filed January 2026. The family got her admitted to McLean Hospital, which discharged her nineteen days before the deaths. Nolan Wells: seven weeks after he died on Horn Island, Mississippi, the phone his family says was wiped has never been forensically examined. The friends deny touching it. The DA and the family agreed to a joint exam on July 15. No date was set. A 48-hour DA deadline came August 12; a four-day family offer followed on the 17th. The sheriff called no foul play before the autopsy without asking for the phone. Clancy's plea is not guilty, on lack of criminal responsibility. Nobody faces charges in Nolan's death. In both cases the state is walking toward a verdict without the evidence that answers the question. Is that strategy, or is it fear of the answer?
