OK v Jesse Mack Butler Stillwater, Oklahoma high school student Jesse Mack Butler, whose dad is a prominent figure in the OSU football community, pleaded no contest in October, 2025 to 10 grape & assault related charges against two 16 year old girlfriends in early 2024. He faced up to 78 years in prison, but ended up with no jail time, despite the fact that one of the girls was so badly inured that she was nearly paralyzed. The baseball player initially pleaded not guilty to all charges but later struck a deal with the district attorney’s office to change his status from adult to youthful offender and changed his plea to no contest after a judge signed off on the deal. Under local laws, the youth plea deal meant Butler was sentenced (in October 2025) to just one year of counseling and community service — despite facing roughly 78 years in the slammer.
