Christy Chupp met Andy Turner not long after his wife, Heather, died. It started with a job offer and a lot of questions about her life. According to Christy, those details would later be used against her in a relationship she describes as abusive, one she went back to again and again before she finally got out… In this extended conversation, Ashley Flowers sits down with Christy Chupp, who was featured in our two-part series on the Mysterious Death of Heather Turner, to talk about what she lived through, what finally helped her see it and how to be a lifeline for someone else. You’ll hear about the early red flags Christy says she missed, how she says she became isolated from her family, why the good moments made it so hard to leave, the Facebook post that connected her with a stranger named Mary, the night Christy says the veil finally lifted, and what she wants friends and family to understand about loved ones who keep going back. Christy says Mary listened for hours without judgment every time she went back. “I really owe the woman my life. Literally.” Today, Christy is a criminal justice graduate who is continuing her education and hopes to advocate for others the way Mary did for her. Her message to anyone still in it: “Choose yourself. You have an entire life to live.” -------- Follow Crime Junkie: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/crimejunkiepodcast Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CrimeJunkiePodcast/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/CrimeJunkiePod Crime Junkie is created anAmerican Idol Contestant Arrested For Murder!?
