72 hours. Two arrests. Two states. Two completely separate criminal investigations — and most of the coverage got it wrong. Joseph Duggar of *19 Kids and Counting* was arrested March 18th on a Florida warrant. The charge is lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 12 — classified as a life felony under Florida statute 800.04. A now-14-year-old girl disclosed in a forensic interview that Joseph allegedly abused her during a 2020 family vacation in Panama City Beach when she was 9. Her father confronted him. A detective was on the line. Joseph admitted his actions — to the father, and then again to law enforcement. That admission is documented in the Bay County Sheriff's Office arrest affidavit. He waived extradition Friday. The clock is running. Two days later, his wife Kendra was arrested in Arkansas on separate misdemeanor charges — four counts each of endangering the welfare of a minor and false imprisonment, tied to their four children ages 3 through 7. These charges are not related to the Florida case. They came out of the mandatory home study triggered by Joseph's arrest. Tontitown police say the investigation remains ongoing. Meanwhile, Josh Duggar — Joseph's older brother, currently in federal prison for child sexual abuse material — issued a statement through his attorney calling the case sensationalized fiction. Joseph had already admitted it happened. Twice. On record.
