Nancy Guthrie's kidnapping case just took a turn that could matter more than any ransom demand. A second note, sent to a Tucson television station days after the 84-year-old grandmother was taken from her home, reportedly claimed she had died shortly after the kidnapping. Law enforcement described that note as a legitimate communication from the actual kidnappers, not a hoax. If that holds up, the people who took Nancy may have put something resembling a confession in writing without meaning to. Criminal defense attorney Bob Motta breaks down what a note like that actually is in legal terms, whether prosecutors could ever use it, and what it tells investigators about who wrote it. At the same time, someone has been emailing TMZ repeatedly from the same address, claiming to have a phone containing video of Nancy and her alleged kidnapper from what was likely her last day. The FBI has already arrested multiple people for sending fake ransom notes tied to this case, and Sheriff Nanos has dismissed the newest email as probably another one. But the FBI is reportedly investigating that same emailer, a contradiction that hasn't been explained. Five months in, there's still no arrest and no body, even as the people allegedly responsible may have already told investigators more than they realized. Tony Brueski and Bob Motta walk through what the note means, what it doesn't, and why authenticating any of this without a body is its own kind of impossible. All claims here are reported and unconfirmed, and no one has been charged. Investigators reportedly tried to independently confirm Nancy was dead after that second note arrived, and even that effort came up short. This episode lays out both notes side by side and asks the question nobody's fully answered yet: are these two people working the same case, or one plan that already fell apart.
