Caleb Flynn stood at his sentencing, convicted on all nine counts in the murder of his wife, Ashley Flynn. He had six words: "I did not kill my wife." Minutes earlier, his daughters' victim impact statements had been read to the courtroom. His ten-year-old asked a question the judge would later quote back to him from the bench. His twelve-year-old addressed him by his first name -- not Dad. Both wrote letters asking for the one thing he refused to give them. Flynn used his statement to talk about himself. He addressed his daughters, his parents, his church. He quoted Proverbs. He took "complete accountability" for unnamed decisions while denying the murder. His parents submitted letters that didn't mention Ashley's name once. Judge Jeannine Pratt sentenced him to life without the possibility of parole. The defense plans to appeal.
