Federal agents boarded eight cruise ships docked in San Diego, detained 27 crew members allegedly connected to CSAM — child sexual abuse material — and deported every single one without filing a charge. No names released. No warrants. No prosecution. One passenger on the Disney Magic watched her family's personal dining host get loaded into a white van in handcuffs, still in his blazer, forty-five minutes after he served them breakfast. For two weeks, the public thought it was an immigration sweep. It was not. According to CBP and HSI, Operation Tidal Wave targeted crew based on intelligence from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The agents had names before the ships docked. Ten reportedly worked on the Disney Magic. Four came from Holland America. Disney issued a statement about their zero-tolerance policy. What they did not address is how these individuals passed screening. KPBS confirmed that as of their reporting, federal prosecutors in both San Diego and Los Angeles had no record of any charges filed. That operation is one piece of a much larger pattern. Three crew members charged on the same Disney ship in two months. A Royal Caribbean attendant sentenced to 30 years after pleading guilty to placing hidden devices inside passenger cabins to secretly record families — including passengers as young as two. A kids' club counselor on Celebrity who, according to the FBI, allegedly went undetected for four months while deliberately avoiding cameras. A 6-year-old was the one who put a stop to it. Two Princess employees sentenced to a combined 45 years. Nearly 200 crew accused in approximately two years according to Cruise Law News. Federal court filings and FBI affidavits expose a connecting thread across Disney, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Princess, Carnival, and Holland America: international crew hired through third-party agencies with limited screening, no shared registry, and an identical corporate response from every company. If deportation without prosecution is the default, what is stopping the next crew member from boarding the next ship?
