Does the Bible teach that Christians are to listen for God’s voice to guide their decisions? For many people, such an intimacy is central to a personal relationship with God, and the core of a true Christian life. But is it biblical? Greg Koukl, Founder and President of Stand to Reason @STRvideos, joins the program to discuss the popular idea of "hearing from God" and what to do if you feel stuck in the mud because God's hints and whispers are not as loud as you expected. Using Scripture as his guide, Greg explains: -- Does the Bible teach God is “trying” to speak to each one of us? -- Can His efforts be thwarted by inattention, excessive activity, or sin, as some suggest? -- What does Scripture mean when it says Christians are “led by the Spirit”? -- Is silence from God a cause for concern? -- Is "hearing from God" a skill that can be taught or learned as Eli taught young Samuel? -- What is the proper context of John 10 when Jesus says, "My sheep hear my voice"? -- Does the Bible give us reason to expect the same interaction with God as Moses, Samuel, and Paul had with Him? -- What is the traditional view of Christian decision-making and how does it compare to the wisdom view? -- What is the most common way for God to communicate with us today? WARNING: This episode may ruffle a few feathers, but at the same time, it can be a source of great comfort. God’s desire is not about the specifics of where we go or what we do; it is about who we are and the person we are becoming.
