The mother of journalist Savannah Guthrie, she is described by law enforcement as mentally sharp but with limited mobility and critical daily medication needs. Authorities were alerted when Nancy failed to show up for church the next day and could not be located at her home. Deputies from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department responding to the residence found conditions inconsistent with a voluntary disappearance, and have indicated they believe she did not simply walk away from the home.
