Ryan Ridley writer, producer, actor, and longtime voice performer on Rick and Morty joins Pete Holmes for an appropriately weird episode of You Made It Weird! Ryan was part of the writing team behind the early seasons of Rick and Morty, helping shape some of the episodes and ideas that established the show’s uniquely twisted mix of science fiction, comedy, existential dread, and complete insanity. He’s also one of the show’s most prolific voice performers, having voiced OVER 100 CHARACTERS throughout Rick and Morty — bringing an incredible number of the show’s bizarre aliens, creatures, background characters, and assorted weirdos to life. Beyond Rick and Morty, Ryan’s career spans writing, producing, acting, and voice work across comedy, television, and film. He’s appeared on Community, voiced characters on Solar Opposites and Star Trek: Lower Decks, and has spent years working with some of the funniest and strangest minds in comedy. Pete and Ryan get into writing comedy, finding the weird idea inside a story, working in writers’ rooms, voice acting, creativity, and what actually goes into making something as unpredictable as Rick and Morty. They also talk about the strange career path of a comedy writer and the joys — and occasional madness — of trying to make funny things for a living. Whether you’re a longtime Rick and Morty fan, interested in comedy writing and voice acting, or just want to hear Pete and Ryan disappear down some wonderfully bizarre conversational rabbit holes, this one’s for you. 📺 Watch Rick and Morty on Adult Swim and HBO Max. 🎧 Subscribe to You Made It Weird for new episodes every week. #RyanRidley #RickAndMorty #PeteHolmes #YouMadeItWeird #AdultSwim #ComedyWriting #VoiceActor #ComedyPodcast =================================================== SUPPORT OUR SPONSORS Thank you VITA COCO for being our official ON SET BEVERAGE Get 25% off and get Vita Coco shipped to your door by using code WEIRD20 https://vitacoco.com APOLLO NEURO COMMENT APOLLO FOR $99 OFF http://apolloneuro.com/weird
