She advises those feeling threatened to trust their instincts and seek support from friends and family rather than internalizing their fears.

“do not question like no matter what always follow your gut with it because our instincts we have them for a reason. We also as women are made to believe that oh we're making it up.”

She asserts that maintaining faith and a strong will to live were essential for surviving the conditions of captivity.

“That's the one thing that really puts a smile on my face when I hear other testimonies from hostages that came out. How much faith pulled them, held them every single day because this is a situation that you need to surrender to.”
