A leader must demonstrate they understand the scale of their crisis and have the capacity to direct a better government.

“I like someone who I might not agree with you but make a decision and stick with it and then stick with the principles of why why you why you're making that decision”

“People are looking to you to provide leadership and panic doesn't isn't good leadership and so one of the reasons why you know I've asked for when we've had the practice the preparation the planning is to make sure there isn't panic and there isn't emotion because you've got to make rational decisio”

“Our mantra, as you said at the top, is GSD, get done. Those are the areas where we focus on getting done. And I think we're putting a lot of points on the board every single day that's having a meaningful difference in people's lives.”

He believes that current political representatives are largely detached from the needs of the general public because they are overly focused on securing funding from wealthy donors.

“they're living in a bubble we're the only people who matter to them are the people who can write a ten thousand dollar check and everybody else becomes invisible to them”

Nicholas Irving believes that the United States is currently being led by individuals who are corrupt and dishonest.

“That means everybody's crooked. Everybody's sick. That's what that tells me. I already knew that though. But to have it put in the world's face, plain sight, like, hey, this is what's really going on at the top level and this is who you're being led by and run by.”

Democratic Party leadership fails to connect with voters because it consistently pushes boring and inauthentic candidates.

“Unfortunately, Democratic Party leadership tends to push the most boring milk toast. Like, that's not going to do well.”

He believes big money in politics and special interests are the root cause of the current political divide and lack of progress in America.

“I think that hopefully hopefully we all can eventually come together to say that this has to come to an end. We have to demand that politicians on that are Republican, Democrat, independent, no matter what you are, that it has to get out.”

Jeremy Corbyn claims that political change is most successful when it originates from popular feeling and movements rather than just economic or social theory.

“The most successful political changes have never come about just by um um economical social theory. They've come about from a popular feeling and a popular movement.”

Trump and his administration are incompetent, authoritarian, and dangerous in their approach to leading the country and the military.

“Trump and Pete Hegsth were going to do this meeting with all the top military officials in the country. Uh, and it was happening in Virginia. And, um, we got word that, oh, what's going to happen is you're they're going to give a speech on the warrior ethos”

Donald Trump does not care about the government shutdown, instead prioritizing personal pastimes and mockery over effective governance.

“Donald Trump doesn't care. You want to shut the government down, he'll laugh, he'll fly around, do whatever he's doing, he doesn't care. He'll look for the next sporting event to go to to see if he can make a mockery of it.”

President Trump's plan to deploy the National Guard to Portland is a polarizing move driven by a desire for a maximum power grab to remake America in a MAGA image.

“we are going to go for the maximum power grab and we are going to break as many norms as we can and we have this one-time opportunity to remake America in a MAGA image and nothing is going to stop us.”

The Trump administration has overt and dangerous connections to white nationalist and fascist ideologies.

“You can't miss the sort of like fashy fashion and by which I mean fashy short for fascist fashion and like you know snuggling with Nazi ideology.”

The speaker argues that Donald Trump is unfit for office and his unfitness should be the sole focus of the political issue.
