He argues that the ongoing fear in the region is a direct result of the trauma caused by the historical conflict.

“the fact that there's a chance has so much fear on the people in this area you know however many years since is very telling of how I don't know just traumatic everything was”

He views the fear and lack of cooperation in the area as a lasting aftershock of the conflict known as the Troubles.

“I do still consider this kind of an aftershock though of the troubles and a result of of violent conflict not really coming to a secure end.”
