Emmitt Smith believes athletes should be able to receive retroactive compensation for their college playing careers now that NIL policies are established.

“I don't care about that statue but they can go give me some uh they can give me some money that I left on the table since they got this nil Retro Retro no I want it with interest”

College athletes should remain in school if they can earn significant money through NIL deals.

“If it was NIL though might have stayed for five. Especially what I'm hearing from you know Marvin Harrison Jr. They offering the young kid 20 25 million to stay. I mean think about that. He possibly can make more than his entire rookie contract possibly going back for one year. Why wouldn't you?”

If you do what you are supposed to do on and off the field, the money and opportunities will come naturally.

“I feel like if you do what you supposed to do on and off the field, bro, like the money going to come there, you feel me? Like, the deal is going to come there. The the like the opportunities, everything is going to be there.”

NIL is currently a good way to take care of family and get what you need, but the main long-term goal is reaching the NFL and signing a second contract.

“like right now like it's cool right now to take care of your family and get the little things you want and want to buy right now. But like big goal you want to get to the league, get that second contract and that's the real”
