A movie requires every element to be perfect for it to be considered good.

Matt Cardona considers Back to the Future to be his favorite movie because it is a perfect story without any unnecessary elements.

“Back to the Future for me, number one, and then everything else. That's fair. Kind of after the perfect movie. I do too. There's nothing you can cut. No fluff. I agree.”

Changes to the source material for the sake of diversity feel like a red flag for the quality of the adaptation.

“And my argument is if it doesn't matter then why change it? It's the motivation behind the change that people sense. And it also is a red flag for how we're going to treat the source material”

Reinterpreting classic stories is a normal and acceptable artistic gesture in filmmaking.

“most fil most books that are turned into films are not the same as the movie. Go watch The Color Purple. It is absolutely different on screen than what happened in the book. What Spielberg did is very different than what Alice Walker did. That is a normal artistic gesture.”

She believes that movies should be entertaining and enjoyable without being lectures on political agendas.

“I'm like oh are they going to tell me how to vote oh great this is what movies are supposed to be this is what movies used to be which is like like funny I'm in I'm telling a story no one's lecturing me on politics There's No Agenda it was just so fun”
