He believes that while athletes should be free to express their views in their personal time, the current infusion of politics into sports broadcasting and game-related activities is excessive.

“I think the beauty of sport has always been it's a two to three hour release to get away from that. Now we're bombarded every commercial break and jerseys and you know, people not standing for the anthem and all that kind of stuff. I think it's too much.”
