She argues that forced divestment to an American company is a reasonable policy ask for continuing TikTok in the United States.

“this is not no more tick talk ever this is sell it to an American subsidiary sell it to an American company which is I think it seems to me a reasonable ask if you would like to continue having Tik Tok in the United States”

He believes that most social media platforms do more harm than good and specifically views TikTok as harmful due to its algorithm-driven design.

“my view on this is that is that most social media platforms as currently designed do more harm than good that's my that's my own bias here”

TikTok remains the least secure app on the market, with higher-than-average permissions and code risks that allow for unauthorized device scanning.

“Tik Tok had the highest score in 2023 uh in 2024 to be honest they've done a lot of a great work trying to reduce their permissions but they unfortunately still came out with the highest score a score of 60 double the industry average”

A ban on TikTok is not a real solution because China could easily exploit other platforms for misinformation, and a ban would just be political posturing.

“I don't think it's worth getting rid of it but you could see why it'd be a liability I understand the the concept of it I do I just don't think it's that real of a threat I think China's a threat but I don't think Tik Tok is the reason China's a threat”

He opposes the bill because it is an over-inclusive, unconstitutional bill of attainder that fails to address the root causes of foreign influence and expands executive power.

“The bill is both over-inclusive while also failing to do the thing that it supposedly is purporting to do. And the reason why is anytime you're in the business of creating a bill to go after one company, one actor, what our founding fathers referred to as bills of attainder, this is a constitutional”
