The failure of local authorities, schools, and social services to act with sufficient urgency contributed to the tragic disappearance of Relisha Rudd.

“This case was handled poorly by the shelter, by the school, by Children and Family Services Agency in DC, and by the police. This wasn't treated with nearly enough urgency. If any of those agencies would have intervened a little bit earlier, it's possible that Relisha might still be here today.”

She believes her mother, Angela Green, is no longer alive.

“However, her daughter Ellie, who is going to be joining us today, thinks that she is no longer alive.”

Law enforcement should release the text of the ransom communications in the Nancy Guthrie case to encourage public interest and generate new leads.

“I really wish that the sheriff's department, since they're I guess in charge of this, would release one or more of those communications and let the rest of the world see what they look like.”

The Nancy Guthrie kidnapping was likely carried out by amateurs who had some connection to the victim and were not professional criminals.

“I don't think it's a professional group. I think it's amateurs. I think there is some connectivity to Nancy in some shape or form.”

Dawn Englebert claims that she does not believe her son perished in the river due to natural causes given his outdoor expertise.

“I think the only way he ended up in the north platte river as somebody dumped him there honestly”

The family members want to see the child returned home safely by any means necessary.

“We just want her home um at any means necessary. We just want her home safe, healthy.”
