People should protect their eyes from excessive ultraviolet light exposure to reduce the risk of eye diseases such as cataracts and macular degeneration.

“I tend to recommend sunglasses for our patients let's start with just the most obvious one the most common site of skin cancer the lower lid lots of basal cells squamous cell carcinomas sunglasses certainly reduce the incidence of that then we look at the photo aging of the lens itself”

The current environmental lack of natural light and panoramic viewing, paired with excessive near-work, are the primary drivers of modern vision issues.

“So would you say it's fair to say that there's from an environmental standpoint, there are two main issues. It's our underexposure to bright natural outdoor light. Um and this ability the ability to um see the world panoramically. Uh and then on the other hand we have this overexposure to artificial”

Vision can be actively improved and the dependency on reading glasses can be reduced through consistent visual system exercises.

“And with enough work, with the right motivation, with the right compliance, you you can actually become less dependent on reading glasses. and in many cases even reverse them.”
