He expressed shock and disbelief regarding the widespread positive national reaction to Team USA's gold medal win in hockey.

“I am surprised, Mike, by the reaction. I'm usually surprised by major news events how big they get and I am surprised over the last 24 hours by the national reaction. I had no idea it would be this significant.”

Matt O'Brien expressed regret for the US winning because he anticipated Trump would respond to the event in an annoying manner.

“Of course, I'm I'm very patriotic. I I I root for for our team to win, but there was a small part of me that was hoping that Canada would win just so we didn't have to deal deal with Trump's insufferable responses. And I'm I'm realizing that that small part of me was 100% spot on.”

The USA Hockey performance was a highly significant and positive event.

“It's incredible the moment for USA hockey. I'm not even a hockey guy. Hockey is number four on my list of all my sports. And that's because the Flyers have let us down.”

“I think if you're there and you're a part of it and you're listed on the staff or the team, you get a gold medal. No. Like that should”

The coaching and medical staff of Olympic hockey teams should be awarded gold medals alongside the players.

“Don't you guys think it's a little crazy I mean head coaches don't get gold medals the coaching staff doesn't get gold medals but these guys should all get gold medals. The trainers, the medical staff, every single person on the staff should get a gold medal.”

Athletes benefit from participating in multiple sports during childhood rather than specializing in one sport at an early age.

“it's kind of been more professionalized at an early age which some good dispute is not the most healthy thing for kids but this the way it is now and yeah”

He believes that playing a variety of different sports helped him improve his mobility and coordination.

“yeah, I think I think that was like kind of a big part too of um just being able to stay like mobile and you know, you learn all these different like skills from other sports. So I think it was like a big guy that kind of helped me stay a little more coordinated.”
