In the Bible, St Peter refers to 'Dearly Beloved ... strangers and pilgrims in this world'. John talks about the intimate connection he found with Russian people (his mother is Russian). "I think I've always felt a bit of a stranger in this world, and not really wanted. I don't really belong here, or believe in the world's values. People don't understand me." In this episode of the 'Inside Story' series exploring more deeply the 'windows of realisation' in John's most popular book 'Wonders of Spiritual Unfoldment' (Chapter 26), he tells us he's always been a solitary sort of man. "I wanted the way of the recluse - the extreme." Join the discussion with your own copy of John's first and most popular book.
