The independent autopsy came back undetermined. A grand jury is pending. Nineteen days after retaining the throat structures, the state has not released a word. Nancy Guthrie has been missing from her Tucson home for nearly six months. No arrest. No suspect. On the same day in July, three FBI sources gave three different answers about whether the ransom notes are real. A former agent went public and called the case cold. Lindsay Clancy's jury is seated in Plymouth Superior Court. Both sides agree she killed her three children. The prosecution says premeditation. The defense says thirteen psychiatric medications in four months destroyed her mind. After the children died, she was intubated and unable to speak. She wrote a single question on a whiteboard that the prosecution and defense read in opposite ways. A grand jury with subpoena power is pending in Mississippi. The FBI in Arizona has had DNA in a genetic genealogy lab for five months with no public update. The medical system in Massachusetts prescribed thirteen drugs in four months and now the state wants to prove the patient was sane beyond a reasonable doubt when she broke. None of these institutions delivered what they were built to deliver. And the families behind each case are still waiting for the one thing that should have come first. Answers.
