DID WE CONVINCE FREDDIE GIBBS & PUSHA T TO MAKE A COLLAB ALBUM? A few weeks ago we put out a tweet that pinned Freddie Gibbs and Pusha T against each other and asked the question “who’s the current king of coke rap?” Freddie Gibbs answered the tweet the next day by saying “f*** a versus. I would make this album tho”. This sparked a conversation on Twitter and across the hip hop community. It is amazing how the hip hop community has possibly persuaded an artist like Freddie Gibbs to make a collaboration project with Pusha T. Freddie Gibbs and Pusha T have collaborated in the past on the Madlib produced ‘Palmolive’. These two rappers are in their prime and are both coming off strong projects which are “Alfredo” & “Daytona”. Some of their most memorable tracks include “Something to Rap About”, “Frank Lucas”, “The Games We Play” and “If You Know You Know”. Since Madlib produced their only collaboration to date, it would be fitting to have him as the executive producer. This episode offers a detailed view at what this album would sound like, who the collaborators should be (Jay-Z, Rick Ross, etc.) and when to expect it.
