Comedian, musician, actor, and filmmaker Whitmer Thomas joins Pete Holmes for a new episode of You Made It Weird! Whitmer has built a career combining stand-up comedy, original music, and deeply personal storytelling. His first HBO special, The Golden One, produced by Bo Burnham, Chris Storer, and A24, introduced audiences to his unique mix of humor, vulnerability, and songwriting. He's also known for the independent comedy film The Civil Dead, which he co-wrote and starred in alongside longtime collaborator Clay Tatum, and his album The Older I Get the Funnier I Was. Now Whitmer is back with his brand new HBO comedy special, Whitmer Thomas: Terminal Crew of Dudes, streaming on HBO Max! The special brings together Whitmer and his closest friends for a mix of stand-up, original songs, childhood memories, and stories about growing up in Alabama. It's a celebration of friendship, getting older, and the people who helped shape who you are. Pete and Whitmer explore the worlds of comedy, music, creativity, and personal storytelling, including the challenge of finding humor in the things that matter most to us. From making art with your friends to turning uncomfortable experiences into something funny, Whitmer brings a perspective that's both hilarious and refreshingly personal. Whether you're a fan of The Golden One, The Civil Dead, Whitmer's music, or you're discovering him for the first time, this is an episode you won't want to miss.
