Sandra Birchmore and Alex Murdaugh both have police officers at the edge of their cases, and former prosecutor Eric Faddis joins me for a full hour on both. In Matthew Farwell's murder trial, prosecutors say his DNA was on the strap around Sandra's neck. The officers who handled her death testified about a parking lot interview, a phone handed back, and a lobby video their own chief first saw online. Stoughton's chief, Donna McNamara, says Town Hall wanted a second Birchmore report destroyed. Town Manager Thomas Calter denies it. In Alex Murdaugh's case, a judge let the defense test unknown DNA from Maggie Murdaugh's fingernails and phone. The defense also wants to know if a grand jury is looking at a police officer friend of Murdaugh's. Prosecutors won't say. Eric tells me where the badge helped, and where it hurt.
