This week we’re joined by musician, singer-songwriter, producer and, among his many creative achievements, the man responsible for Taylor Swift’s favourite cauliflower salad… it’s Marcus Mumford! The Mumford & Sons frontman joins Nick and Angela to chat about the band’s latest album, Prizefighter, and why six albums in, it feels like some of their best work yet. With a huge summer ahead, including a headline slot at BST Hyde Park on 4 July, Marcus reflects on time spent stateside making the album and what life looks like as the countdown to festival season begins. Safe to say tiramisu has become a surprisingly important part of the process. There may be no famous Mumford cauliflower salad on the menu, but we do kick things off with a 0.0% gin and tonic before settling into a Ravinder Bhogal Awadhi chicken pulao recipe. Fragrant, comforting and packed with flavour, the slow-simmered rice dish is served alongside warm naans, crisp poppadoms and sweet-sharp mango chutney. The Waitrose wine experts pair it with a bottle of Jackson Estate Sauvignon Blanc. Not someone who’d naturally choose time spent at a dinner party, Marcus soon finds himself right at home around the Dish table, sharing stories from family life in Devon with his wife, actor Carey Mulligan, where home-grown vegetables and strategic bribery all feature. We also hear about his love of beef Wellingtons and the perfect post-marathon meal.
