While they may be more used to Met Gala Mondays these days, for @samsmith there’s still nothing that beats a Fishy Friday. A major Dish milestone this week as lobster finally makes its debut at the table, and who better to mark the occasion than BRIT Award, Grammy, Golden Globe, and Oscar-winning singer-songwriter Sam Smith. Joining Nick and Angela to chat about their new album, Hazel Eyes, out 21 August, and an exciting run of upcoming residencies, it doesn’t take long before the conversation turns to the thing Sam might love even more than music… food. For the ultimate foodie, we kick things off with crisps, sour cream and caviar alongside an ice-cold glass of Waitrose Blanc de Noirs Champagne, a new favourite of Sam’s. Then comes the moment we’ve all been waiting for: Angela’s lobster rolls with lemon and dill. Served in pillowy brioche buns (with a gluten-free version for Nick), each is topped with crispy pancetta, although Sam’s decision to add a handful of crisps gets Angela’s seal of approval too. The Waitrose wine experts pair the dish with Famille Brocard Organic Chablis 2025 Burgundy. Life across the pond may have taken Sam away from their beloved flat fork and sticky chip dinner, but New York’s food scene has clearly won them over, as anyone following their foodie Instagram, SamServed, will know.
